Romanian embassy in Azerbaijan to serve as NATO Contact Point Embassy in Azerbaijan for two more years

Romania’s embassy in Azerbaijan will serve as NATO Contact Point Embassy in Azerbaijan for two more years, head of Azerbaijan’s Mission to NATO Khazar Ibrahim said at the conference in Baku on the theme “Ensuring energy security in the future and NATO role in protection of critical energy infrastructure in the Caspian basin”, APA reports.

Khazar Ibrahim said the decision had been passed in recent days. Head of the Mission added that Azerbaijan along with the relevant bodies is preparing an action plan for ensuring energy security, it will be realized after having been coordinated with NATO.

Romania’s embassy in Azerbaijan has been serving as NATO Contact Point Embassy in Azerbaijan since January, 2009. Earlier, Turkish embassy had fulfilled this function.
