Armenian government approves ratification of framework agreement with US on TRIPP project

The Armenian government has approved the ratification of the strategic partnership framework agreement signed with the United States under the TRIPP project, News.am reports.

The agreement provides for the creation of a transport route linking Azerbaijan's mainland with the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic through the territory of Armenia.

The document was signed in Washington on June 1, 2026, and in Yerevan on June 4, 2026.

Following a positive opinion by the Constitutional Court on the agreement's compliance with Armenia's Constitution, the document will be submitted to parliament for ratification.

Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said that for the full implementation of the project, the parties must also sign two additional documents – a shareholders' agreement and the charter of the project development company.
