Main office of the Islamic Conference Youth Forum for Dialogue and Cooperation (ICYF-DC) in Istanbul told APA that the draft resolution submitted by the Forum was adopted during the session by the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers, so, for the first time OIC Council of Foreign Ministers recognized Khojaly tragedy as genocide act.
Elmaddin Mehdiyev attending the session in Djibouti in capacity of head of ICYF-DC delegation said the draft resolution submitted by the Forum contained a special paragraph on “Justice for Khojaly” campaign initiated by Leyla Aliyeva, General Coordinator of the Islamic Conference Youth Forum for Dialogue and Cooperation.
According to that paragraph, the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers called on the member countries and OIC agencies to actively participate in and support the activity of the campaign and make efforts for the recognition of this genocide act as a crime against humanity at the international and national levels.
“Justice for Khojaly” International Awareness Campaign was initiated on May 8, 2008 by Leyla Aliyeva, General Coordinator of the Islamic Conference Youth Forum for Dialogue and Cooperation. The Campaign is actively functioning to inform world community about the truths of the Khojaly genocide and Karabakh conflict.
