Negotiations on a draft new comprehensive agreement and the Partnership Priorities document covering 2026–2030 were held between the delegations of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the European Union in Baku on June 2–3, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs told APA.
The Azerbaijani delegation was headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Yalchin Rafiyev, while the EU side was led by Audrone Perkauskiene, Deputy Managing Director of the European External Action Service.
As a result of the discussions held in a constructive spirit, the draft European Union–Azerbaijan Partnership Priorities document covering 2026–2030 was provisionally agreed upon.
Within the framework of the negotiations on the new comprehensive agreement, representatives of the relevant state institutions of the Republic of Azerbaijan, together with their counterparts from the European Union, held productive discussions on various sections of the draft agreement. Progress was achieved in a number of areas, and plans were determined for the next stages of the negotiations.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties agreed to continue negotiations on the draft new bilateral agreement intensively in both online and in-person formats.
In addition to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Azerbaijani delegation included representatives of the Presidential Administration, the Ministries of Economy, Justice, Energy, Digital Development and Transport, Finance, Labor and Social Protection of the Population, Science and Education, as well as the Central Bank, the State Customs Committee, SOCAR, the State Service for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control, the Intellectual Property Agency, and the Media Development Agency.

Negotiators officially resumed negotiations on a new bilateral agreement between Azerbaijan and EU, EU Delegation in Azerbaijan posted on its X account, APA reports.
"Productive Europe and Azerbaijan talks in Baku as we mark 30 years of partnership. Negotiators provisionally concluded the text of Partnership Priorities and officially resumed negotiations on a new bilateral agreement. Our focus is stronger dialogue, connectivity and economic cooperation," the post reads.
