"The recent statements by Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan certainly cause serious dissatisfaction. First of all, it should be noted that neither this diplomat's personal life experience nor the position maintained by the state he represents over the past 30 years allows him to assess which actions and statements serve peace and which do not," Farhad Mammadov, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of the Center for Analysis of International Relations and Multiculturalism, told APA.

Farhad Mammadov stated that Azerbaijan was the side that called for peace in 2021 and that the text of the peace agreement was prepared precisely on the basis of the five principles proposed by Azerbaijan:

"At the same time, it was precisely as a result of official Baku's activities that Azerbaijan and Armenia moved closer to peace, and Yerevan agreed to the peace agreement as revised by Azerbaijan. Therefore, the Armenian side cannot determine which statements are compatible with peace and which are not. Neither Yerevan nor Mirzoyan personally has the right to do so.

On the other hand, Mirzoyan and several other Armenian officials are trying to create the impression that the conflict and war in Garabagh covered only the period from 2020 to 2023. However, before that, Azerbaijani territories had remained under occupation for 30 years, and it was Azerbaijan that suffered. During the First Garabagh War, Armenia committed the Khojaly genocide and other war crimes against Azerbaijan, razed Azerbaijani cities and villages to the ground, destroyed our cultural, religious, and historical heritage, and committed ecocide. Now Armenia is trying to make these crimes forgotten internationally and wants to present the issue to the international community as though it began only in 2020."

The Deputy Chairman of the Center for Analysis of International Relations and Multiculturalism noted that the ties of the Armenian Foreign Ministry and Mirzoyan personally with Armenian lobbyists such as former International Criminal Court Prosecutor Luis Moreno Ocampo, who takes a revanchist position, and the Armenian diaspora are no secret to anyone:

"Ocampo, who previously acted on Mirzoyan's instructions, now admits that he continues to maintain contacts with Armenian officials. Taking this into account, the recent revanchist statements made by the former International Criminal Court prosecutor and Armenian diaspora organizations attract attention. Thus, over the past years, the Foreign Ministry-Ocampo-diaspora trio has carried out significant activities against Azerbaijan, and we are currently observing actions taken through the cooperation of this trio in foreign countries.

In addition, the Armenian side is trying to create the impression that humanitarian problems concern only them, as though there are no humanitarian issues that concern Azerbaijan. However, Azerbaijan has still not received maps of mined areas from Armenia, the coordinates of mass graves in Garabagh have not been provided, and the fate of thousands of missing persons remains uncertain."
