On September 12, 2026, a two-day visit to Karabakh and East Zangezur by representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Azerbaijan concluded, APA’s correspondent in Karabakh reports.

On the second day of the visit, representatives of the diplomatic corps visited the Gandzasar Monastery Complex near the village of Vangli in the Aghdara district, followed by the Khudavang Monastery Complex in the village of Vang in the Kalbajar district.

They were briefed on the history and architectural features of the complexes, as well as instances of alterations, modifications, and falsifications made to the monuments.

Subsequently, the monastery grounds were toured, and the monuments were examined. As part of the visit, diplomats and military attachés familiarized themselves with the operations of the "Istisu" mineral water bottling plant. Afterward, the diplomatic corps representatives attended a honey festival held in the city of Kalbajar.

It should be noted that this was the 22nd visit by representatives of the diplomatic corps to the territories liberated from occupation. Regular visits by representatives of the diplomatic corps to the liberated territories provide an opportunity to see firsthand the results of the restoration and reconstruction work carried out in Karabakh and East Zangezur under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, as well as the region's socio-economic development and the efforts undertaken to preserve its historical and cultural heritage.
