“The tripartite statement was signed by the leaders of Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Russia. There isn’t the French President Emmanuel Macron’s sign here,” the Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said at the annual press conference held today, APA's Moscow correspondent reports.
He recalled that, Armenia and Azerbaijan mutually recognized each other's territorial integrity at the summit held in Prague in October 2022 with Macron’s participation and they signed a document which referred to the Alma-Ata Declaration dated 1991. He noted that, signing the document that’s referencing the Alma-Ata Declaration means that Armenia recognized Garabagh as Azerbaijan’s territory.
Lavrov also added that Azerbaijan is ready to sign a peace treaty in the Russian territory. “However, how ready Armenia is for this, I don't know,” the Russian Foreign Minister concluded.
