“Every time I visit Karabakh, the changes in the region amaze me, " Uzbekistan Ambassador to Azerbaijan Bahrom Ashrafkhanov told APA’s correspondent dispatched to Karabakh.
“Each time we come to Karabakh, we are impressed by the pace of the reconstruction work being carried out here, and we are pleased with it,” the diplomat emphasized.
He noted that during each visit, he has closely familiarized himself with the projects being implemented in the region.
The ambassador stated that the memorial complex established in Khojaly holds special historical significance.
“We saw the memorial complex created in memory of the victims of the Khojaly tragedy. This is a very good idea and is of great importance in ensuring that future generations do not forget these events,” he said.
The diplomat also highly appreciated the project of the new mosque being built in Shusha.
“We saw the new mosque currently under construction. Its project and design are amazing,” the ambassador noted.
He added that they also visited the branch of the Carpet Museum in Shusha, emphasizing that Azerbaijan’s rich cultural heritage is widely showcased in the region.
The ambassador also drew attention to the development process at Karabakh University. He said that new faculties, including a medical field, have been established at the university.
“We are interested in expanding cooperation between the universities of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan. Karabakh University holds a special place in this regard. We would like Uzbek students to study here. Very good conditions have been created here for education and living,” the diplomat said.
The ambassador added that Khankendi is developing rapidly and that a new life is already being felt in the city.
“The light in the students’ eyes shows that the university is already becoming a cultural and vibrant environment,” he stressed.
