Vygaudas Usackas: â€œAzerbaijan is Lithuaniaâ€™s main trade partner in the regionâ€

The minister said the document would contribute to further extension of political dialogue between the two countries. At the tete-a-tete and large meetings, the ministers discussed political, economic and humanitarian relations as well. Usackas said it was his first official visit to Azerbaijan. Calling Azerbaijan as Lithuaniaâ€™s main trade partner in the region, the minister said that the Lithuanian Trade House would be opened in Baku today, which would be useful for business people and tourists. The minister highly appreciated the Azerbaijan-Lithuania relations and said Azerbaijan was important not only as an energy supplier, but also as a political and cultural center of the region. Usackas positively valued Azerbaijanâ€™s participation in the Eastern Partnership Program and said Lithuania and Azerbaijan would carry out two joint projects in the fields of interparliamentary cooperation and ant-corruption measures this year. The solution to the Nagorno Karabakh conflict within the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan was also described in the Memorandum signed today.
