Eldar Mahmudov meets with senior officials of Italian security services

Bakuâ€“APA. Minister of National Security of Azerbaijan Eldar Mahmudov met with the Director General of the Italiaâ€™s Domestic Intelligence and Security Agency Giorgio Picchirillo, who is on a visit to Baku to attend the Azerbaijani security servicesâ€™ 90th anniversary events. Warmly welcoming the guests, Eldar Mahmudov spoke about the regional processes, realities and various threats, as well as Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno Karabakh conflict and its results. Eldar Mahmudov informed the guests about the adequate measures taken by the Ministry of National Security of Azerbaijan for prevention of terrorism, drug trafficking, illegal migration and other appearances of transnational organized crime and the concrete results of these measures.
Giorgio Picchirillo expressed his congratulations on the 90th anniversary and thanked for detailed and large information. He said he had good impression about his first visit to Azerbaijan and was satisfied with the results of discussions over the topical issues of Azerbaijani and Italian security interests. He said he believed that the visit would be useful for the strengthening of relations between relevant organizations of both countries. The parts discussed other issues of mutual interests and emphasized the importance of exchange information and experiences useful for security.

Minister of National Security Eldar Mahmudov has also met with the Director General of the Italian Intelligence and Security Agency Vice Admiral Bruno Branciforte, who is visiting Azerbaijan to attend the Azerbaijan security servicesâ€™ 90th anniversary events. Minister Eldar Mahmudov warmly welcomed the guests, and informed them about the legislative acts on national security and reforms, regional processes effecting on the operational conditions, challenges and threats. The minister said the transnational organized crime, including global terrorism, drug trafficking, illegal migration and other threats caused serious concern in the world and the Ministry of National Security of Azerbaijan took adequate measures to prevent the new threats.
Bruno Branciforte congratulated his Azerbaijani colleague on the occasion of 90th anniversary and thanked for detailed information. The guest said he had good impression about his first visit to Azerbaijan, and was satisfied with the results of discussions over the issues important for both countries. He said he was satisfied with the cooperation between the Italian and Azerbaijani security services. The meeting was held under the condition of mutual understanding and the parts discussed other issues of mutual interests.
