Italian Deputy Foreign Minister Alfredo Mantika: We are interested in cooperation with Azerbaijan on import of natural gas

His visit aimed to strengthen cooperation between the two countries and exchange views on issues discussed during the visit of Ilham Aliyev to Italy.
â€œItaly is a main foreign business partner of Azerbaijan and we want to continue the activity in this direction and make efforts to invest Italian capital in Azerbaijani economy,â€ he said.
Italian Deputy Foreign Minister underlined that he would exchange views on bilateral cooperation, as well as European Neighborhood Policy and ITGI in the meeting with Azerbaijani President.
â€œThe project is very important for us. This is one of the priorities of Italy. The project will be realized in 2015. Turkey, Greece, Italy should be coordinated on this project. The problem is that, Turkey has not yet decided how much gas it will consume. We plan to hold quadripartite meeting and realize the project till 2015,â€ he said.
The negotiations will be conducted on expected visit of Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi to Azerbaijan during the meetings of Alfredo Mantika in Baku.
