Ganira Pashayeva distributes document in PACE on Guba mass burial cemetery in Azerbaijan

Strasbourg. Fuad Gulubayli – APA. Member of Azerbaijani delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe Ganira Pashayeva distributed a document among the parliamentarians at the meeting of the winter session on the Guba mass burial cemetery, APA’s Europe bureau reports. The document says that the Guba mass burial cemetery in Azerbaijan is a consequence of Armenian atrocities and constates the fraudness of so-called Armenian genocide.
“In the beginning of 2008 within the course of excavations being conducted with regard to the construction works in Guba region of Azerbaijan there were revealed human bones in a considerable among constating massacres and due to the initial investigations it was found out that above-mentioned bones belonged to the local civilians murdered within the assault of Armenian armed unities to Guba in 1918. However as a result of the atrocities perpetrated by Armenian military commander Hamazasp there were slaughtered over 10 thousand civilians in Guba within early 5 months of 1918. Furthermore, 162 villages were destroyed and 35 out of them razed to ground. Since the discovery of Guba mass burial cemetery high officials of Azerbaijan, MP-s, various public figures including intellectuals and foreign guests have visited the site. The joint visit carried out by Speaker of Azerbaijani Parliament Mr. Ogtay Asadov and PACE President Mr. Lluis Maria de Puig to Guba mass burial cemetery was very occasional event. The impressions by PACE President were the following:
“I can not identify the perpetrators of this tragedy but it is an awful genocide and I eyewitnessed the brutal slaughters of human beings. In this regard I will inform the PACE Ad Hoc Committee for future reviewing of this territory,” he said.
