Davos Economic Forum is opened today

Baku. Victoria Demetyeva â€“APA. The World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2009 begins in Davos, Switzerland on Wednesday. It promises to be one of the most important events in the Forumâ€™s history. The significance of the Meeting is such that more than 40 heads of state and government will participate in Davos-Klosters where they will join more than 1200 business leaders as well as NGOs, Trade Unions and experts from a wide range of fields and journalists. The Meeting will be focused on managing the current crisis and shaping the entire post-crisis agenda, from economic reform to climate change.
The Forum will be officially opened on January 29. Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin will give the opening address at the Forum. On the first day, the participants will discuss the world financial crisis and situation in the Middle East and on the second day, they will address the problems of human rights and climate change.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev will also join the Davos Forum.
The Forum will last until February 1.
