Vasili Istratov: â€œRussian leadership did not say that Azerbaijanâ€™s Nabucco membership would have impact on bilateral relationsâ€

The Ambassador underlined that several political guarantees should be taken into account while passing strategic decision on large-scale commercial project demanding billions of dollars.
â€œAll factors should be considered while passing such kind of strategic decision. Factors are many in numbers,â€ he added. Diplomat considers that any exporter should not make mistake.
He assessed Ilham Aliyevâ€™s decision on the fact that Azerbaijanâ€™s Nabucco membership would depend on proposed gas price.
Asked whether Russia will reconsider the proposal, if Europe proposes gas price for Azerbaijan higher than other one proposed by Gazprom, the Ambassador stressed that he was unaware of Gazpromâ€™s proposed price and added that such kind of issues were debated between entities.
