Azerbaijani President receives Vice-President of European Commission responsible for Digital Agenda

Baku â€“ APA. President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received Neelie Kroes, Vice-President of the European Commission responsible for the Digital Agenda. APA reports that Mrs. Neelie Kroes thanked the Head of State for high-level organization of the 8th Internet Governance Forum (IGT) in Baku. She underlined the great importance of electronic mass media, development of free internet and e-government project.

Ilham Aliyev noted the importance of Kroesâ€™ participation in the forum. Regarding the forum as the result of the work done in information and communication technologies sector in the country, President Ilham Aliyev expressed his confidence that internet and electronic mass media would further develop in Azerbaijan.

The sides exchanged views on the development of the cooperation between Azerbaijan and the European Commission in various spheres, including information and communication technologies.
