Melanne Verveer said at the press conference that there are a number of global problems, including security, economy, protection of environment, management.
“Women’s participation in the solution of these problems is very important. The situation of gender equality in Azerbaijan is like in all other countries. The women’s participation in all spheres from politics, parliament up to agriculture management should be increased,†she said.
Touching on family planning Melanne Verveer said the number of sex-selective abortions had increased, it might cause demographic problems in future.
