Azerbaijan to send official inquiry to Australian government on resolution adopted by the South Wales state

Baku. Anakhanim Hidayatova â€“ APA. Azerbaijani government will send official inquiry to Australian side in connection with the resolution on recognition of right to self-determination of â€œNagorno Karabakh peopleâ€, introduced by the Pro-Armenian member of Legislative Council Marie Ficarra. Spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Elman Abdullayev told APA that Australian government has always supported territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan.

â€˜In order to clarify the issue, Azerbaijani government will send an official inquiry to Australian federal government. Unfortunately, with an eye to receive dividends in local elections, some members of legislative bodies of local state fulfill orders of Armenian Diaspora. Of course, this resolution does not reflect official position of Australian federal government. Because Australia has repeatedly expressed support towards territorial integrity and sovereignty of our country, it did not recognize Nagorno Karabakh and 7 other occupied regions as independent state. Australia has even warned its citizens to avoid visits to occupied territories of Azerbaijan - Nagorno Karabakh and surrounding regions. Australia has always assured our country that Australian federal government strongly supports Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity and sovereigntyâ€™.

Remind that, yesterday, Australiaâ€™s New South Wales state adopted resolution recognition of right to self-determination of â€œNagorno Karabakh peopleâ€. The MPs called Australian Government to recognize separatist regime NKR officially and strengthen Australiaâ€™s relationship with the â€œNagorno Karabakhâ€ and its citizens.

Along with this, the Council considered important to continue humanitarian and economic support to â€œNagorno Karabakh Republicâ€.
