Eric Rubin comments on the U.S. position regarding relations between Azerbaijan and BP - <font color=red>PHOTO</font>

Baku. Anakhanum Hidayatova- APA. Our involvement in the discussions between Azerbaijan and BP would be inappropriate, said U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Eric Rubin.
He said that the U.S. supports development of energy resources in Azerbaijan.
"We have obviously supported western energy companiesâ€™ efforts to help Azerbaijan develop its energy resources. We believe that this is in the common interest of both the West and Azerbaijan," he added.
According to him, there is huge potential to use in this area.
The energy-rich Caspian nation said last week that miscalculations and failure to meet its output targets in the Azeri- Chirag-Guneshli, or ACG by AIOC, the field development consortium led by BP, had cost the country $8 billion in lost revenue.
BP said it is working with Azerbaijanâ€™s national oil company Socar to address ACG production issues as quickly as possible.
