Azerbaijani Foreign Minister meets with US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State

Baku â€“ APA. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Elmar Mammadyarov received the delegation led by Eric Rubin, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State. APA reports that welcoming the guests, the minister expressed satisfaction with the current level of US-Azerbaijan bilateral relations. He stressed there is great potential to extend mutual relations between the states. Touching upon the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict, Mammadyarov mentioned the importance of withdrawal of the Armenian armed forces from the occupied territories of Azerbaijan and said that Azerbaijan regrets that Armenia demonstrates non-constructive position in the peace talks.
Eric Rubin highly appreciated the contribution made to the international peace and security by Azerbaijan, non-permanent member of UN Security Council. He praised Azerbaijanâ€™s role in peace-making mission in Afghanistan and mentioned that US highly appreciates it.
