Azerbaijan, Indonesia plan to extend defense industry cooperation

Herryanto informed the Azerbaijani ambassador about the defense industry of Indonesia, export and import operations in this field. He said Indonesian army is equipped and supplied by the local industry now. Army uniforms are exported to about 60 countries and Indonesia sells different types of gun to ASEAN countries.

Ambassador Garayev focused attention on the current level of Azerbaijan-Indonesia relations. Then he informed about the Armeniaâ€™s aggression against Azerbaijan and said Azerbaijan advocated for peaceful settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict. They exchanged views on the development of army-building. He noted that if the ways of peaceful settlement exhaust, Azerbaijani army is ready to liberate the lands from the occupation.

Garayev said Azerbaijan had a young defense industry, but its opportunities enabled it to meet domestic needs and also to export weapons. Azerbaijan has developed defense industry cooperation with many countries and could achieve successes in this field.

Indonesian official expressed their interest in exchange of experience and implementation of joint projects with Azerbaijan and said he would visit Azerbaijan soon.
