The ambassador said Georgia declared a week of mourning on this occasion, APA reports. He expressed gratitude to the government and people of Azerbaijan for their support during the war and post-war period. Sharshinidze reminded that Azerbaijan supported Tbilisi on the international level voting for the UN resolution demanding liberation of occupied territories and return of refugees to their homes.
Calling Azerbaijan and Georgia as the strategic partners, the ambassador said his country didn’t recognize the so-called “presidential elections†in the occupied Nagorno Karabakh region of Azerbaijan. The diplomat also mentioned the Javakhetian problem. “The Abkhazian and South Ossetian problems were used as an ethnic factor against Georgia. I don’t rule out that Russia can also use Javakhetian problem against Georgiaâ€.
