Israeli analyst: â€œIsrael makes mistake by avoiding the direct negotiations with Palestineâ€

According to him, if the Israeli leadership solves the Palestine problem, all countries, including the Arab states will recognize Israelâ€™s independence: â€œNetanyahuâ€™s government avoids the dialogue, because they faced instability inside Israelâ€.

Goodman, who is an analyst of one of the worldâ€™s leading think tanks, considers that the settlement of the conflict according to the principle of â€œtwo statesâ€ is the most rational version and all Palestinian political institutions support this plan: â€œIsrael can cooperate with Palestinian administration in the West Bank, we must take into account that Mahmoud Abbasâ€™ government is pursuing the policy of open political system in terms of political and economical institutions and against the expansion of radical ideas. As regards the Jewish residential sections in the occupied territories, all illegal constructions, which form 60% of all constructions, must be destroyed and the destiny of the other construction must be solved via negotiations not involving the army in this issueâ€.

Israel-Palestine negotiations were interrupted because Israel refused to prolong 10-month moratorium on construction of Jewish settlements in Palestinian territories. Palestinian side said that they would not start the negotiations without moratorium on the construction.
