He said the Foreign Ministry was attentively observing the situation and contacting Azerbaijan’s diplomatic representation in Syria.
Following Syria’s suspension from the Arab League, thousands of residents of Damascus attacked the embassies of Turkey, Saudi Arabia and other countries in Damascus on November 12-13. They threw stones on the embassies, burned the flags of those states. In connection with the recent happenings, Turkey decided to evacuate some representatives of the diplomatic staff. Syrian Foreign Minister Walid al Muallem apologized to the abovementioned countries for the attacks.
