Azerbaijani ambassador presents credentials to Peruvian president - <font color=red>PHOTO</font>

Press service of the Azerbaijani embassy in Mexico told APA that the wide range of relations between Azerbaijan and Peru, including energy cooperation prospects, the issues of mutual interests in the development of political relations were discussed at the meeting.

Ambassador Mukhtarov informed the Peruvian President about the history, cultural values and the rate of economic development and current potential of Azerbaijan.

The issues of cooperation on education were also in the focus of attention. The ambassador spoke about the scholarship programs for the young Peruvian diplomats at the Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy. This proposal caused the interest of the Peruvian president.

Mukhtarov also informed the president about the Armenian aggression against Azerbaijan and the process of negotiations for the solution to the conflict.

Ambassador Mukhtarov presented the copies of credentials to the Peruvian Foreign Minister Rafael Roncagliolo. Peruvian minister congratulated Azerbaijan on the election as the non-permanent member to the UN Security Council. He showed interest to the development of political relationship between the countries.

The prospects of energy cooperation and the investment opportunities in the international economic projects were discussed at the ambassadorâ€™s meeting with Peruvian energy minister Carlos Herrea Descalzi. Mukhtarov informed the minister about the International Caspian Oil and Gas Exhibition in Baku. He said Peru was the oil and gas producer and had great experience in the field of liquid gas refinery, as well as usefulness of the Peruvian delegation to this exhibition.

Mukhtarov met with the deputies culture minister of Peru and reached agreement for organizing mutual Azerbaijani and Peruvian culture days in 2012.

The ambassador met with other officials of the Peruvian foreign ministry, Diplomatic Academy and members of the Peruvian Congress. They discussed the current issues of the development of bilateral relations and extension of the cooperation.
