Azerbaijani FM: â€œWe will discuss the issue of discussion of Nagorno Karabakh problem at the UN with the 5 permanent members of the Security Councilâ€

Minister said that this victory was an indicator of support by the countries, which voted for Azerbaijan.

Asked the question â€œWill the election of Azerbaijan to the non-permanent membership of the Security Council affect the holding of negotiations in the organization on Karabakh problemâ€, the minister answered as follows: â€œThe issue must be supported by the permanent members of the Council for submitting any initiative to the UN discussion. Three of them are the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs. We havenâ€™t discussed this issue with the permanent members, but will do itâ€.

Mammadyarov said that Azerbaijan will chair the UN SC for two times. It will be in May next year and September 2013: â€œWe must be prepared in order to be a chair of such prestigious organizationâ€.

In his turn, Vashadze congratulated Azerbaijan on this victory: â€œI am very glad to be in Baku in such historical moment. Azerbaijani diplomacy carried out great work in order to winâ€.
