CIS Parliamentary Assemblyâ€™s Permanent Commission on Legal Issues holds meeting in Azerbaijan

APA reports that the representatives of seven states at the CIS PA Permanent Commission on Legal Issues are attending the meeting that is being held at the Azerbaijani parliament.

Model draft laws on â€œThe right of property and its protectionâ€, â€œCommercial secretâ€ and â€œMediation in the solution of disputes before the courtâ€ will be considered at the meeting. The members of the commission will also discuss issues on preparation of information booklet of legal terms for the participants of CIS. Moreover, information will be given at the meeting about the use of legislative acts adopted by the CIS PA.

Mahmudali Vatanov (chairman of the committee of Tajikistanâ€™s parliament) was elected as chairman of the CIS PA Permanent Commission on Legal Issues.

Chairman of the Azerbaijani parliamentâ€™s committee for legal policy and statehood Ali Huseynli said Azerbaijan is carrying out fundamental legislative reforms. The legal basis is being conformed to the recommendations of the Council of Europe.

â€œAzerbaijanâ€™s legal system is in line with the European standards. Due to the successful legal reforms, Azerbaijan has found its place in the European legal system,â€ Ali Huseynli said.

Chairman of the committee added that Azerbaijani parliament is closely cooperating with the CIS PA.

The meeting will last for two days.
