Elmar Mammadyarov receives permanent representatives of some countries to UN

During the meeting the minister welcomed the guests and informed them about the way Azerbaijan passed after the restoration of its independence and the celebration of the 20th anniversary of restoration of independence this year. Minister Mammadyarov informed the guests about the countryâ€™s energy policy, the supply of the European and world markets with Azerbaijanâ€™s hydrocarbon resources, the transport projects set on the ancient Silk Road and Azerbaijanâ€™s participation in these projects, Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway, which is uniting the East and West and the other regional and international significant projects.

Mammadyarov also informed the guests about Nagorno Karabakh problem, underlined that the international community doesnâ€™t support the maintenance of the status quo. Minister said the conflict settlement is possible only within the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.

Minister Mammadyarov underlined that the guests had a good chance to be closely familiarized with our countryâ€™s potential during this visit. He called to support Azerbaijanâ€™s candidacy for a non-permanent membership of the UN Security Council in 2012-2013.

Then Mammadyarov and guests exchanged view on processes occurred in Azerbaijan and the region.
