Dmitry Medvedev: The Caspian states must act jointly to protect sturgeons

At the meeting in Astrakhan Dmitry Medvedev called to implement moratorium on sturgeon fishing and take coordinated steps to increase the fish species.
â€œWe should closely cooperate with our neighbors. First of all, we must implement the decision on moratorium, which was taken by us, but unfortunately has not been implemented due to the lack of full agreement. If we can do this, we should enter the next stage of cooperation â€“ distribution of quota for restoration of the number of sturgeons,â€ he said.

Russian President said the Caspian states are capable of assuming relevant quotas.
â€œWe must pay attention to the increase of the number of not only sturgeons, but also of other valuable fish species,â€ he said.
