International Business and Diplomatic Exchange interviews with Azerbaijani Ambassador to UK Fakhraddin Gurbanov

Baku â€“ APA. British International Business and Diplomatic Exchange magazine interviewed with the Ambassador of Azerbaijan to the United Kingdom Fakhraddin Gurbanov. According to APA, the interview covered the sustainable economic development in Azerbaijan, current state and prospects of the energy sector, measures taken for management of energy incomes, activity of the State Oil Fund, economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and the United Kingdom, the role of the British companies in exploration of oil and gas resources, Azerbaijanâ€™s victory at the Eurovision 2011 Song Contest and development of tourism sector.

Ambassador said macroeconomic indexes of the country increased year by year and it is based on the current political stability and economic course pursued in the country. Regional energy projects promote the economic development and the government established the State Oil Fund for rational use of energy incomes. British companies play an important role in exploration and export of the Azerbaijanâ€™s energy resources and interest in the non-oil sector was also increased. Ambassador Gurbanov called on the British companies to invest in the countryâ€™s economy.

This year was declared as the â€œYear of Tourismâ€ in Azerbaijan, which has rich tourism resources. The development of tourism is one of the priorities of our country. World-known five-star hotels will be opened in Baku this year. The projects of the development of tourism are carried out in the regions as well. Ambassador congratulated Azerbaijan on its victory at the Eurovision 2011 and said hosting the Eurovision 2012 in Baku, Azerbaijan will get a chance to demonstrate rich culture of our people and to develop tourism.
