Swiss Ambassador to Azerbaijan: â€œAzerbaijani-Swiss relations are developing dynamicallyâ€

Habil Suleymanzadeh â€“ APA. â€œAzerbaijani-Swiss relations are developing dynamically and both countries derive benefit from these relationsâ€, Ambassador of Switzerland to Azerbaijan Sabine Ulmann Shaban said at the ceremony dedicated to the day of the establishment of the Swiss Confederation, APA reports.

Addressing the event attended by the local and foreign guests, the Swiss ambassador spoke about the history, political traditions of her country and its role in current political map of the world. The Swiss Confederation was established in 1291 and passed long way of development. Mentioning the development of political relations between Azerbaijan and Switzerland, the ambassador reminded about the Swiss President Micheline Calmy-Reyâ€™s visit to Azerbaijan in March this year. She said this visit gave strong impetus to the development of bilateral relations. Sabine Ulmann Shaban said she hoped the Azerbaijani-Swiss relations will be developed further.

Speaking on behalf of the government of Azerbaijan, Minister of Economic Development Shahin Mustafayev called Switzerland as an important partner for Azerbaijan. He said the developing relations between the two countries in the energy, political and humanitarian fields make the countries closer.

Ancient national musical instrument of Switzerland â€“ alphorn was played in the performance of the famous group of alphorn players Crescendo.

Crescendo will give two concerts more. One of the concerts will be performed in Icherisheher (Old City) on July 30 and the second one in Chapel-house on July 31.
