Azerbaijani politiciansâ€™ comments on Serzh Sargsyanâ€™s latest statement â€“ <font color=red>INTERVIEWS </font>

The international organizations have to react to this statementâ€. This idea was expressed in the APAâ€™s interviews with the representatives of the political parties of Azerbaijan, experts and members of the parliament.

MP Ganira Pashayeva said the international organizations immediately react to such statements made by the leaders of other countries, but they didnâ€™t react to the Armenian presidentâ€™s statement in the past two days. Armenian presidentâ€™s statements are against the international law, said MP and added that with this statement Sargsyan admitted that they occupied Azerbaijani lands. â€œHe recommended to the future generations to extend the occupation policy toward Turkey. We are seriously concerned about that UN, OSCE, OSCE Minsk Group and other organizations didnâ€™t make any comment on the Armenian presidentâ€™s statements. These statements must be criticized and Sargsyanâ€™s must be demanded to apologize for these statements. Azerbaijani delegation will raise this issue at the PACEâ€™s autumn sessionâ€.

Political scientist Vafa Guluzadeh said he didnâ€™t expect different statement from Sargsyan. He called Armenia as a â€œcountry with bound armsâ€ and Sargsyan as a â€œhooliganâ€. â€œThis is a â€œhooliganâ€ statement. Moscow orders him to make it because Armenia is a province of Russia. Sargsyan is not a head of independent state. His statement shows that he doesnâ€™t want Armenian-Turkish relations to be normalizedâ€.

Sargsyanâ€™s statement is an example of Armeniaâ€™s occupation policy, said chairman of the Democratic Reforms Party, MP Asim Mollazadeh. It shows that Yerevan will continue its aggressive policy, said MP and added that Armenians are not satisfied with the occupation of the Azerbaijani lands and they intend to extend their territorial claims against Georgia and Turkey and to realize this policy. â€œI think it needs to focus the worldâ€™s attention on this issue. Essentially it needs to involve the Minsk Group co-chairs in this issue because Armenians donâ€™t intend to withdraw their forces from the occupied Azerbaijani lands, but they raise territorial claims against other countries tooâ€.

â€œSuch territorial claims by Sargsyan threaten the existence of Armenia in the Caucasus as a stateâ€, chairman of the Azerbaijan Democratic Party Sardar Jalaloglu told APA.

â€œSargsyan says they got back Karabakh. But everybody knows that Russian troops occupied these territories. Making such statements, making recommendations to the future generation show that it will be impossible to prevent such dangerous tendencies unless persons like Sargsyan are punished,â€ ADP chairman said.

Jalaloglu said Russia backs Sargsyanâ€™s statements.
â€œThis is not the statement issued by a foolish criminal. This is a very serious and political statement contradicting the norms of the international law. International organizations, including OSCE Minsk group must make a serious assessment,â€ he said.

Deputy chairman of Azerbaijan Popular Front Party Nureddin Mammadli considers that Sargsyanâ€™s statement shows that his political position is not good.
â€œThe opposition has recently become active in Armenia. It is felt that Diaspora has plans to change the government in Armenia. In this case, Sargsyan is trying to change the public opinion about him and rehabilitate himself,â€ he said.

Mammadli said that international organizations must take necessary measures.

â€œSerzh Sargsyanâ€™s confession of Karabakhâ€™s occupation and territorial claims against Turkey show once more the essence of the aggressor. It means that Armenia does not intend to give up its aggressive policy,â€ member of New Azerbaijan Partyâ€™s (YAP) Political Board, MP Malahat Ibrahimgizi told the website of YAP.

Ibrahimgizi said the international community must take a stance on Sargsyanâ€™s position.
â€œThe statement issued by Sargsyan at the time when the negotiations mediated by OSCE Minsk Group has intensified, is a blow to the peace process. He admits that Yerevan is not interested in the establishment of peace. This statement can not be justified and approaching it with the principles of the international law, there are even elements of crime here. Sargsyanâ€™s statement is not only against Turkey and Azerbaijan, but against the entire world community,â€ she said.

According to the representative of the ruling party, Sargsyanâ€™s position is a serious message for Turkey.
â€œThere are forces in Turkey who support opening of borders, establishment of diplomatic relations with Armenia. Armenian presidentâ€™s territorial claim against Turkey must make the Turkish society think over it again,â€ she said.
