Baku. Victoria Dementyeva – APA. Rapporteur of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) on political prisoners in Azerbaijan Christof Strasser is planning to visit Baku in February or March. Strasser’s office told APA that the visit was scheduled for February, but it can be postponed until March because of the Monitoring Committee’s meeting.
German Christof Strasser was appointed as PACE rapporteur on political prisoners in Azerbaijan at the meeting of the OSCE Legal and Human Rights Committee on March 24, 2009. He scheduled to visit Azerbaijan in the second half of 2009 to learn the situation, but couldn’t realize his plans.
