Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Vagif Sadigov pays working visit to India

Baku. Lachin Sultanova â€“ APA. Azerbaijanâ€™s Deputy Foreign Minister Vagif Sadigov paid a working visit to India, Foreign Ministryâ€™s press service told APA. Vagif Sadigov attended the conference â€œAzerbaijan â€“ India cooperation: prospects and challengesâ€ on the 90th anniversary of Azerbaijanâ€™s diplomatic service organized by Azerbaijani embassy in India and Indian World Relations Council in New Delhi. A number of researchers, state officials and diplomats delivered speeches on the themes â€œHistorical ties between India and Azerbaijanâ€, â€œIndia-Azerbaijan cooperation in economic and energy sectorâ€. In the part on the theme â€œRegional security, cooperation and future opportunities for cooperationâ€ Deputy Foreign Minister Vagif Sadigov spoke about Azerbaijanâ€™s foreign policy priorities, the countryâ€™s activity within the framework of the international organizations, history, current state and settlement of Nagorno Karabakh conflict.

Vagif Sadigov also held a number of working meetings during his visit. At the meeting with Deputy Foreign Minister of India Parbati Sen Vyas the sides discussed the current sate of the relations in the bilateral and multilateral format. They said there is broad potential for cooperation between the two countries and underlined the importance of its effective usage.

Vagif Asadov also met with Secretary General of Indian Parliament Sri Achari. They discussed the current state and prospects of the relations, interparliamentary relations and ways of their activation. Vagif Asadov also met with Indian Petroleum Secretary R.S. Pandey, Culture Secretary Jawahar Sircar, Tourism Secretary Sujit Banerjee, Secretary of Information Technologies Rakesh Singh, Secretary of Telecommunications Department P.J. Thomas. Current state and prospects of the relations were discussed during the meetings. Azerbaijani ambassador to India Tamerlan Garayev also attended all meetings. At the end of the visit, Deputy Foreign Minister Vagif Sadigov gave interview to a number of media outlets.
