Iranian embassy in Azerbaijan has no information about arrest of Afshar Suleymani

Suleyman Farzaliyev â€“ APA. â€œWe have no information about the arrest of FORMER ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Azerbaijan Afshar Suleymani,â€ spokesman for Iranian embassy in Azerbaijan Abbas Isgandari told APA. According to Isgandari, if Suleymani had been detained, the embassy would have known about it.

The diplomat said it was the internal affair of Iran and added that irrespective of the position, everybody, who had violated the law, must answer before the law.
â€œThis is so in all countries,â€ he said.

Khural newspaper reported that Afshar Suleymani had been arrested in Iran. The newspaper writes that Tehran court sentenced Suleymani, later he was bailed out after paying $2500. The former ambassador did not give information that he had married again in Azerbaijan, this is the violation of Iranâ€™s laws. His wife from Azerbaijan Shamsiyya Beylergizi reportedly raised the suit.
