Washington. Zaur Hasanov – APA. Member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Virginia James Moran sent a letter to the Secretary of State Hillary Clinton concerning the arrests of Adnan Hajizada and Emin Milli in Azerbaijan, APA’s US bureau reports.
The congressman writes that Mr. Hajizada and Mr. Milli were arrested on July 8, 2009, in Baku, on the charges of hooliganism.
“Their arrest received world attention as they are known civic activists and bloggers who have expressed opposition to the ruling government of Azerbaijan. It is suspected that their arrests were the result of politically expressed views rather than criminal acts,” he writes.
James Moran asks the Department of State to take steps to ensure fair trial of the aforementioned men.
