Human Rights Commissioner receives new UNICEF Representative in Azerbaijan

Baku â€“ APA. Azerbaijani Human Rights Commissioner Elmira Suleymanova received new Representative for the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in Azerbaijan Mark Hereward, the Human Rights Commissionerâ€™s press service told APA. The Human Rights Commissioner congratulated Mark Hereward on his appointment as UNICEF representative in Azerbaijan and wished him success. She said childrenâ€™s rights hold important place among the fundamental human rights and freedoms.
Elmira Suleymanova said significant measures are being taken in the country to increase the intellectual ability of children, bring them up in the spirit of our moral values and patriotism.
They also discussed the prospects of future cooperation.
Mark Hereward said former UNICEF Representative in Azerbaijan Hanaa Singer informed him about the activity of Azerbaijani Human Rights Commissioner, the work done to protect the childrenâ€™s rights. Mark Hereward appreciated the meeting and exchange of views with Elmira Suleymanova and expressed his confidence that the new stage of the mutual relations will be successful.
