Anne Derse: â€œAzerbaijan can support U.S in its new policy regarding the Muslim countriesâ€

Lachin Sultanova â€“ APA. â€œAzerbaijan can provide the United States with serious assistance in its new policy and new attitude toward the Muslim countriesâ€, said US Ambassador to Azerbaijan Anne Derse in her comments on the US attitude to the Islamic world. She said Azerbaijan was a secular country and therefore it could assist the United States in this field. President Obama said Islam and terrorism couldnâ€™t be connected with each other. Reminding about that the ambassador said millions of Muslims were living in the United States. She said there were nearly 1200 mosques in her country and the Muslims became a part of American life style. â€œIslam is a great religion with long history. Islam is a peaceful religion and it was described in Holy Qurâ€™an. As we donâ€™t connect the Christianity with Christian terrorists, we are not connecting the extremists and terrorists, who misuse the religionâ€™s name, with Islam too. We donâ€™t struggle against Islam. As President Obama said we would never wage such warâ€.
