Baku. Viktoria Dementieva – APA. The European Union welcomes the statements of Turkey and Armenia on the normalization of their relations, said Benita Ferrero-Waldner, Commissioner for External Relations and European Neighborhood Policy, European Commission’s delegation in Azerbaijan told APA.
"We welcome the progress in the normalization of relations between Turkey and Armenia. The Commission supports both countries’ diplomatic efforts towards full normalization of bilateral relations, including the opening of the border between Armenia and Turkey. We should now build on the positive momentum created and actively support all efforts to resolve outstanding conflicts in the region."
