If Turkey doesn’t consider the occupied territories of Azerbaijan as Turkic land, this agreement is useful for them. But the “road map” shouldn’t be so”, political scientist Vefa Guluzadeh told APA. The analyst said he doubted that the “road map” would come into action at one time. “So far no “road maps” give a result. I see this document as a show-off before the public community”. Guluzadeh said it was negative that there was no point regarding the Nagorno Karabakh in this document. “Armenia doesn’t recognize the Turkey’s borders and put its territorial claims against turkey in its Constitution too. It will be better that Armenia recognizes Turkey’s territorial integrity. If it does that, it will partly leave its genocide claims”. Guluzadeh considers that if the joint commission on genocide is established it will be clarified who committed genocide and against whom. “If the commission objectively research the issue, it will become clear that Armenians committed genocide. I welcome the initiative to establish the joint commission”.

Political scientist Rasim Musabeyov told APA it is positive that two countries are lifting the problems between them through the negotiations. “However the issue is not restricted with the points described in “road map”. Recep Tayyip Erdogan said the borders wouldn’t be opened before the solution to Nagorno Karabakh conflict. If Armenians accept the “Kars treaty”, problems between the countries will be reduced. In any case, if both parts have willingness, they can settle the issue on the basis of compromise”.

Political analyst Mubariz Ahmadoglu considers that the road map should have been prepared in another format.
“Armenia says that bordering areas of Turkey belong to Armenia. Declaration of Independence and Constitution also covers this issue. I think the road map should envisage amendments to the declaration and constitution, not Gars treaty. On the other hand, presence of the third states in the joint commission on genocide is not to the advantage of Turkey. If there will be majority voting in the commission, then Armenia will prevail over Turkey. The commission will become a tool of pressure on Turkey in the hand of the European states. As regards commercial relations, anyway the parties had commercial cooperation. Actually, the relations should be minimized. There is no need to discuss accreditation of the embassies. Such representations usually are in Sweden or Switzerland as they have the status of neutral states. But they have chosen Georgia and this is not so important,” he said.
Ahmadoglu said these issues should become effective only after being ratified in the parliament.

Political analyst Rustam Mammadov told APA that all the issue on the road map aim to release Armenia from blockade.
“There is only one stipulation to release Armenia from blockade: release of Nagorno Karabakh territories. It should be included into the document. That’s why the present road map is an insignificant project. As Armenia has not recognized Turkey’s territorial integrity, I do not believe that it will ever recognize it,” he said.
