Touching on the preparation of the roadmap for normalization of Turkey-Armenia relations with mediation of Switzerland, Foreign Ministry spokesman said:
“Every independent state has the right to establish relations with other states. Moreover, the position of Azerbaijani side is that normalization of Turkey-Armenia relations and reopening of the borders between the two countries should take place only in parallel with the withdrawal of Armenian military units from the occupied territories of Azerbaijan,†he said.
Asked whether Turkey informed Azerbaijan about the negotiations with Armenia, Elkhan Polukhov said the parties were exchanging information on the process.
