World Cup: Chances aplenty for Uruguay and South Korea, but an empty net

South Korea-Uruguay was a game in which both teams deserved to score, but neither did. The game ended 0-0, the fourth scoreless draw of the World Cup so far, APA reports citing New York Times.

South Korea’s players were everywhere, especially in the first half, rushing after free balls and pressing Uruguay’s defenders. Son Heung-min, playing with a black mask to protect a fracture near his eye, drew a roar from the crowd every time he neared the ball. But despite several good chances, there was no reward for the hard work.

Uruguay relied mostly on over-the top long balls and was particularly effective in the second half. But it was consistently missing the good finishing touch needed to get a goal.
