English inflicted their heaviest defeat on the Croatian national team, winning 7-0

England defeated Croatia 7-0 in their away match of the third round of the Nations League group stage. The match took place in Rijeka, APA reports.

The goals were scored by Harry Kane (8th and 53rd minutes), Jude Bellingham (21), Anthony Gordon (39), Bukayo Saka (45, 68) and Morgan Rogers (87).

England became the first team to score five goals against Croatia in an away match. The only other away win they had ever had was in September 2008, during the 2010 World Cup qualifiers. That match also ended in a 4-1 defeat.

This is the Croatian national team's worst defeat in history. The team previously conceded six unanswered goals in an away Nations League group stage game against Spain in September 2018.

England sits second in League A Group 3 with 6 points, while Croatia is third with 3 points. In the other match of the group, Spain will host the Czech Republic later on Saturday. In the next round, Croatia will play Spain at home, while England will host the Czech Republic. The matches will take place on October 6.
