“AFFA had to reconsider bid prizes for footballers and foreign coaches and decrease them. The prizes are still high anyway”, Khazar-Lankaran head coach Agaselim Mirjavadov told APA-Sport.
The trainer stated he was absent in today’s meeting in AFFA headquarters because he was not in Baku.
“I made my proposals at the meeting with secretary general Fuad Esedov before. I offered to approve AZN 1000 for local player and AZN 5000 for a foreigner. I am still dissatisfied with the prizes though they decreased much. AFFA should take into consideration the clubs which cannot afford it. I didn’t touch the bid prize for foreign coaches. I think the bid prize for local trainers should be free of change. In this way, there will be more trainers for the clubs will be interested in working with local coaches”, he said.
FC Neftchi Gurban Gurbanov is satisfied with new prizes.
“Compared to the previous prizes, these are more affordable”, he said.
FC Inter president, Bulgarian businessman Georgi Nikolov was discontent with the decision made at today’s meeting.
“We had several offers. New prizes are still high. We wanted them to be decreased more. I think several clubs will be dissatisfied with the decision. We are waiting for a more considered decision in AFFA conference”, he added.
Imishli’s MKT-Araz vice-president Evez Agayev also considered new prizes normal compared to previous ones.
“Local footballers wanted the bid prizes AZN 3000. But I and some other club representatives offered AZN 2000 and AFFA agreed with us. They didn’t consider it right to cut bid prizes for foreign players more”, he said.
FC Olimpik vise-president Vagif Gasimov thinks the decision passed in July, 2006, was more suitable.
“They decided AZN 500 for local footballer and AZN 5000 for a foreigner then. Though AFFA agreed to cut bid prizes, it is not an official decision. Decision is passed at conference. I am still dissatisfied with the prizes. Olimpik or other club with less financial support cannot afford it like Khazar-Lankaran”, he said.
Agdam’s Garabagh general director Emrah Chekilel expressed his satisfaction with new prizes. Outsider Genjlerbirliyi vice-president Vagif Sadigov considers new prizes satisfactory.
“I have financial problem. We were dissatisfied with the prizes in previous season too. AFFA decision passed on April 26 was a blow to the club. Our future activity is under question anyway. I think new prizes are normal. We can afford it somehow. Now we have to attract sponsors to the club”, he underscored.
Azerbaijan national team head coach Shahin Diniyev regarded the decrease of bid prizes as a gentle move.
“Decrease of bid prizes doesn’t concern national team. But tt is very important for clubs. It will favor the clubs with poor financial support. I think it is a gentle more”, he said.
Today AFFA has agreed to cut bid prize for local footballer to AZN 2,000, legionnaire to AZN 8,000, local coach to AZN 5,000 and foreign trainer to AZN 20,000. /APA-Sport/
