EU and World Bank ink agreement on Azerbaijan

Administrative agreement on Agile Technical Assistance Tool for Azerbaijan between the European Union (EU) and the World Bank, APA-Economics reports.

This 3-year program consists of 5,25 mln. euro total budget is funded by the EU and managed by the World Bank.

The purpose of the program is to strengthen consultation, analytic support, and potential to the Azerbaijani Government in accordance with “Azerbaijan 2030: National Priorities for Socio-Economic Development”.

This support will help to strengthen social inclusion and connections, encourage economic reforms, strengthen the management of the state sector, and efficiently eliminate the effects of COVID-19.

The agreement has been signed by World Bank Country Manager for Azerbaijan Sarah Michael and European Union (EU) Delegation to Azerbaijan, the ambassador Peter Michalko. Elnur Aliyev, First Deputy Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan has also attended the signing ceremony.
