Baku. Rashad Suleymanov - APA-Economics. At the end of 2008, the annual inflation rate is expected to be 16-17% in Azerbaijan, said the country’s minister of economic development Shahin Mustafayev.
He attributed the decline in inflation to the current trends in global financial markets and falling prices.
“However, falling prices will not affect the business environment in Azerbaijan,” he added.
The Government of Azerbaijan predicted inflation at below 18% for the yearend, higher form the original forecast of 12-14%. Annual inflation reached 21.6% at the end of January-October, according to official statistics.
According to the IMF outlook, inflation will not be below 20% in the country.
