Ambassador: â€œTrade turnover between Ukraine and Azerbaijan will increase by 30% this yearâ€

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev â€“ APA-Economics. Trade turnover between Azerbaijan Ukraine will increase by 21-29% to $ 1.7-1.8 bln in 2012, said the Ukrainian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Alexander Mishenko.

According to him, the trade turnover was $1.4 bln in 2011, while this index was $1.6 bln in 2010. This was caused by decrease of exported crude oil from Azerbaijan to Belarus through Ukraine. IN turn, this caused to shut the Belarusian plant down.

Ambassador noted that, in 2012, the trade turnover between Ukraine and Azerbaijan would increase to $1.7-1.8 bln. So, Ukrainian companies started cooperation with Baku Metro in construction of new metro stations and State Oil Company of Azerbaijan extended the variety of oil products which realized in Ukraine.

Taking this into consideration, the trade turnover will reach $ 1.7-1.8 bln in 2012. Thereafter, this index is forecasted to exceed $2 bln.
