Baku. Vahab Rzayev – APA-Economics. As of March 1, 2012, the term deposits in Azerbaijan-based commercial banks made AZN 3.449 bln, up AZN 920 mln or 36.4% from year earlier. The growth in only first months of 2012 made AZN 173 mln or 5.3%.
Along with this, 51.6% of term deposits are in manat. This index was 42% as of March 1, 2011. So the share of manat in deposits increased and this fact indicates the population’s trust to manat. This was occurred as a result of strengthening of manat against USD by 1.4%, last year.
