Average YTM on CB notes rises 0.35 percentage points in first quarter

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev – APA-Economics. Number of operations with government securities in Azerbaijan’s stock market rose 14%, volume – 1.8 times to AZN 2.6 bln, said the report of State Committee for Securities on outcomes of January-March.

Report says 11% of operations were CB notes, 89% - repo operations.

Continuation of anti inflationary monetary policy by Central Bank of Azerbaijan was reflected in the volume of note market and YTM of this instrument. So CB notes placed in the market during the first quarter rose 41%, secondary market of this instrument increased by 16.3 times, totally volume of market rose 43% to AZN 298.6 mln: “Average YTM of notes rose 0.35 percentage points to annual 1.79%. Besides, volume repo operations also increased. So number of repo operations rose 47%, volume – doubled to AZN 2.326 bln. More than 99% of operations were conducted via CB notes”.
