Rise in monetary base goes on in Azerbaijan

Baku. Vahab Rzayev â€“ APA-Economics. As of April 1, 2012, the national currency (manat) monetary base stood AZN 8,347.7 mln, up 33.2% or 2,078.7 mln compared to previous year, told the Central Bank of Azerbaijan.

The monetary base increased by 6.7% or AZN 522.5 mln in March, 2012.

Note that, the monetary base includes currency in circulation and reserves which commercial banks hold in their accounts with the central bank.
