Baku. Ali Ahmedov – APA-Economics. Lithuania always supported Azerbaijan in international issues, as well during selection as member to UN Security Council, said the Azerbaijani co-chairman of Azerbaijan-Lithuania Intergovernmental Commission, Minister of Taxes Fazil Mammadov.
According to him, Lithuania also supported Azerbaijan’s position in Nagorno Karabagh conflict and well is supporter of fulfilment of UN 4 declarations on withdrawing of Armenian troops from occupied territories.
Lithuanian minister appreciated the political relations between two countries and noted that, this situation can play a role of base in extension of economic cooperation. According to him Lithuania has realized different projects with Azerbaijan’s state bodies. But the trade turnover does not correspond the political relations: “These figures are lowerâ€. Lithuanian minister noted that, the trade turnover may increase by 5-10 times. Lithuania interests in purchase of gas from Azerbaijan for compressed gas terminal in Klaypeda port: “At present, the representatives of terminal discuss this issue with SOCAR managementâ€.
Besides, studying of youths in Lithuanian high schools wil deepen the humanitarian relations.
